  It is a great nature preserve with changes with the seasons. There are many trails mostly easy and some moderate in difficulty due to incline. Most of the trails are beautiful - some around the lake, some in wooded areas and some in farm country although that area belongs to stone barn farms but they don't mind..you can even walk to stone barn and have coffee and snacks in the small cafe there. You will see many birds, occasional fox , rabbits , Chipmunks , racoons and deer. In some seasons you will see farm.animals too. The forest is somewhat unhealthy - many trees are dying like others forests in the north east. While it is a peaceful place at dawn and dusk it had increasingly become noisy with large groups walking and jogging - the rules say only 4 in a group but that is violated with impunity. Nevertheless this a beautiful serene preserve. Unless you have a state park permit it is $6 for parking. No food inside the preserve and no biking but horse riding is allowed. A must visit park in Westchester.

  Such a great park to see nature and even some deer. Lots of trails for everyone to enjoy either a.long or short stroll. Beautiful scenery for photography lovers.

  With over 1400 acres and growing this preserve is known for its great dirt trails for walking, horseback riding, cross country skiing, and snowshoeing.
  
  It is a bird watching paradise and it has an important bird area which is a must visit for birders.
  
  The diversity of mostly native flora is of great importance to naturalists and enthusiasts alike. If you are interested in learning or expanding your knowledge of trees, shrubs, and bushes surrounding the swampy border of Swan Lake, the Preserve offers Tree Walks.
  
  I recently attended an outstanding Tree Walk conducted by Naturalist John McShane.
  
  The views are simply magnificent.

  this is an awesome place to visit and the best time is the fall. the foliage is outstanding. great place for a jog or stroll. take the time to go to the visitor center and they will let you know what the park has to offer. but for me i love the stone work.

  Park on the service road and hike into the grounds. From there take anyone of the paths. You can spend a whole morning here taking it all in. Definitely make the cafe your first stop. There fresh baked goods are to die for, but they go quick. Try the quiches and mini breads with a cup of hot cocoa. Then head to the paths for some yoga in the open grass. Before you leave, pop into the gift shop where if you are lucky you'll grab some fresh bacon.
